Cooperative planning

Pandemic

The group works against a changing board and a shared set of threats. Player actions create breathing room, but the game also advances after those actions. Understanding that complete cycle helps the team discuss priorities meaningfully.

What to watch for

Watch both a player's actions and the subsequent card and infection steps. Distinguish treating disease on the board from discovering a cure. The objective and loss conditions should be clear before the team begins planning an elaborate opening sequence.

At your first table

Keep the phase reference visible and resolve the game's response carefully. Let the active player describe their intended turn before other people offer alternatives. Assigning someone to monitor shared reminders can help, provided they do not become the only strategist. After the session, separate a missed procedure from a reasonable decision that met an unlucky draw.
