Boardgame Notes is an independent English-language guide to choosing, learning and enjoying tabletop games. It brings together practical articles, short game companions and links to useful how-to-play videos.

How to use the notes

Start with the group and the time you have. Read a guide, choose a game companion and watch a tutorial if seeing a turn would help. These articles are introductory explanations, not complete rulebooks, product reviews or claims of personal playtesting.

Sources and credits

The articles are original editorial content for this site. Videos belong to their respective creators and are linked on YouTube with credit. We do not host or copy their videos. The game companions identify the relevant tutorial and include edition cautions where appropriate. Game names belong to their respective owners; this site is not affiliated with their publishers or the linked creators.

Rules and editions

Games, printings and expansions can differ. For an exact ruling, consult the rulebook and official corrections for the copy you own. Older video tutorials may have corrections in their descriptions. Our notes are a starting point, not a replacement for those sources.

Privacy

The site does not use advertising, analytics scripts, account registration or input forms that send information to us. Search and category filters run in your browser. No video player loads automatically. Following a YouTube link takes you to a separate service governed by its own privacy practices. The web server may process standard connection and request information to deliver and protect the site.

Editorial scope

The current collection contains sixteen practical guides, twelve game companions and a glossary. Video links were checked on 7 November 2026. Availability and the creator’s descriptions can change over time.
