Word association
Codenames
A grid of ordinary words becomes a team puzzle about connections and interpretation. The challenge is not just finding an association, but judging whether teammates will follow it without being pulled toward a dangerous alternative.
What to watch for
Pay attention to the different information available to clue-givers and guessers. Watch a complete clue and guessing sequence. The restrictions on clues, the handling of incorrect guesses and the end conditions all shape the experience, so cover them before asking someone to give the first clue.

At your first table
Make sure everyone can comfortably read the grid and understands unfamiliar vocabulary. Keep the key visible only to the intended players. Agree which language and edition you are using, then consult the rulebook when a clue's legality is unclear. Avoid giving facial or verbal feedback that leaks extra information during a team discussion.
