Pattern building
Azul
Choosing tiles from a shared supply feeds a personal pattern-building puzzle. A selection can help complete a useful row, but taking more than you can place introduces a cost. Watch both the display and your own unfinished work.
What to watch for
Follow a complete selection, including what happens to tiles left behind. Then watch how completed pattern lines move into the wall and how that placement scores. The difference between selecting tiles and scoring a completed line is essential to understanding the round.

At your first table
Demonstrate an overflow example during the teach rather than leaving penalties as a surprise. Check the wall side and variant you are using, and show the condition that triggers the end of the game. When reviewing a session, ask where a tempting selection created a difficult later choice rather than assuming every large selection was a good one.
A video helps explain the flow. Use the rulebook and official corrections for your copy to resolve a rules question.
