Shared card selection

7 Wonders Duel

Two players choose from a changing arrangement of cards, with several pressures competing for attention. A choice can improve your own position while uncovering a new opportunity for the other player, making availability part of the decision.

What to watch for

Watch how the card arrangement is built and which cards are currently accessible. Follow the different uses of a chosen card rather than focusing only on buying it. Notice how the game's different victory conditions can change the importance of a move.

At your first table

For a learning game, keep the action and symbol references nearby. Walk through one example of removing a card and revealing what becomes available. Explain the immediate victory conditions before play, because they affect decisions from the beginning. At the end, revisit a moment when a useful card also opened an opportunity for the opponent.

A video helps explain the flow. Use the rulebook and official corrections for your copy to resolve a rules question.
